STATE PROPERTY FOR SALE: ARKANSAS SERVICES CENTER, JONESBORO, AR
On behalf of the State Owners, ABA is providing notice to any interested party that the Arkansas Services Center which consists of 39.68 acres of land with improvements located at 2920 McClellan Drive, Jonesboro, Craighead County, AR is for Sale. Clarification:
A tour with prospective bidders occurred on December 15, 2011 at the Arkansas Services Center located in Jonesboro, AR. While on a tour of the building prospective bidders asked ABA staff two questions regarding the facility. The following are the questions and responses:
- Was Asbestos present in the facility?
Official Response: While bidders should do their own due diligence regarding the costs of the abatement for total demolition of the facility, the state received information within the last six (6) months that the abatement of the facility (for total demolition) would cost approximately $650,000.00. Bidders are cautioned that a more detailed asbestos survey would need to be completed to refine the scope of work and the actual costs associated with any abatement.
- Other than the general obvious current state of the building, what were the major problems with the building?
Official Response: Other than the issue of general disrepair, it is the opinion of ABA, that the HVAC and the roof were the major problems with the facility.
